My deepest sympathy to all of Dorothy's family. Although I never met her, there's no doubt many of her sterling qualities shine brightly in her daughter, who shares her wisdom and passion to teach those of us fortunate enough to enjoy her yoga sessions. So, to Dorothy, I say "thank you" and God bless you for teaching your family what unconditional love looks like.
Dorothy was my “other” Mom (the MacDormans lived 4 houses down the block from me until John and I were about 13). I spent countless hours in John’s backyard playing football, baseball, tag, etc., and he did the same in my backyard. When I was at John’s house, his Mom made great lunches (and I think she let us have chocolate milk if I recall correctly). After lunch, before we went back outside to play, his Mom pulled out the flash cards (addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.). I credit her with preparing me for my PhD in Biostatistics. Dorothy, you were an amazing, loving, caring Mom who made the world a lot better place. Love you forever!!!

Dorothy was a dear friend of my mother, Anne Gress. Together with their friend Esther Clark, they’d get up at the crack of dawn to walk their hilly Arlington neighborhoods with biscuits in their pockets for their dog pals along the way.
