Duane's tribute showed his love of family and that he enjoyed his life. Memories of White Oak days drift back. Gone too soon!
I am saddened to hear of Duane's passing and on behalf of myself and my own family and the inline hockey family of Ashburn Inline, I send my deepest sympathies to his entire family. Such a loss. I remember Duane from White Oak. He always had a smile on his face. I remember my dad calling him Whitey because of his blond hair! We lost one of the good ones.

So sorry to see this. I remember the White Oak days...His smile was always there with a touch of mischief mixed in. It is just way too soon to have him depart.
We remember Duane from all of our school years growing up on Poinsettia Drive in White Oak, PA. Duane was always ready to play baseball on the 'street' and to joke with my father. We enjoyed kick the can on many summer nights and Duane was right in there for that. His smile is the same as it always was and he looks so happy in the video tribute. Still, it just seems too soon for him...

Thank you for the beautiful tribute to our dear friend Smoothie. Although time has slipped away from us, our memories of so many wonderful times shared together full of love and laughter will forever remain in our hearts. We were blessed to be a part of his life, foolish to let time slip away.

What a smile! We just finished watching the video & encourage you to do so as well. We were separated geographically but our HEARTS were never far apart. We thank God for memories because we're hanging on to them dearly. We want to thank everyone for their support & kind words of my Brother, well deserved if I may so myself. , You were the best big brother a guy could have!!

The memories go back many years. We went to the same high school and continued to socialize into our twenties. Duane was an exceptional athlete and I recall his bowling and softball years. I visited when he went to school at Penn State. Where he was a Kappa Sigma fraternity member. It is great to see that Duane created a rich family life in the Virginia area. His legacy lives on in the many people he has touched thru his life with his compassionate and upbeat personality.

Duane and I worked together at Dittmar and he has done some work at my House as well. We became fast friends as I am also from Pittsburgh and we had a lot to talk about whenever we got together. He was a skilled craftsman and a pleasure to be around. I was very saddened to hear of his passing and wish to send his family my deepest sympathy.
This picture of Duane is perfect, as this is how I always saw him and will remember him. With a big smile and either a Steeler, Penguin or Pirate jersey on. He will be missed. Here we go Steelers.....Here we go Duane!
