Rhonda, when JoAnn Fawley emailed me the sad news about your dad my mind went immediately back to Lovettsville. Memories of visits to your house, your Mom's cherry dumplings, frozen Milky Way bars, your dad's teasing ways, meeting and talking with your grandmother in the church parlor after services, sitting with you and your folks during services at New Jerusalem and so many other things came flooding to the forefront of my mind. It has been nearly 35 years since I've lived in Lovettsville but the memories came back and I remember them clearly. I know you miss your dad now and will miss him in he future. to ernest dear family. we thought so highly of ernest. we had many a good vist when he picked our trash up from between the hills, I would always make sure to pack him a lunch to eat on the go. ernest was such a gentle soul and so thoughtful to everyone. we moved five years ago, but i would always ask people in loudoun how is sweet little ernest. i will always remember ernest as a great friend. yours friends in new market va. lee and brenda thompson##imported-begin##lee thompson##imported-end##

So sorry to hear about your dad. I remember as a child coming to the farm for visits. I know that Ernest and my grandad Wilbur were very close.
I don't know if we will be able to make it to the funeral, it's up to mom and how she is feeling that day.
