Gene was a second father figure to me growing up. He would put Kim and me in the back of his truck and drive us over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to see the Senators play. I’ll never forget him hollering “You couldn’t hit a watermelon!” from the stands to the opposing batter. He truly loved Frank Howard. He’d also take Kim and I to the little league games where we would flirt with all the boys. I remember him as a fun person who always made people laugh. My mother loved being around him and spoke of him often. There is a void in this world without him. To those who loved him still on this earth, I wish good memories and a smile. And to those who have passed before him, wrap him in your arms and then listen to a joke.
I knew Gene from going to the old school house Bluegrass shows in Lucketts, he was always a pleasant man, and always had a good joke, rest in peace, sir, now you are at the Greatest Bluegrass show of them all, enjoy it!!!!
We love you Uncle Gene. It makes my heavy heart a little lighter to know you are reunited with so many family members who have passed before you.
I married into the Repass family. Right away I knew Gene was my uncle too. The kindest soul!! He could tell a joke or two as well. Uncle Gene you are probably telling jokes in heaven right now. You made me feel loved right away. I'm going to miss you buddy!
Worked with Gene many years ago always had a joke and cigar and loved his bluegrass music..
Many good memories working with this great man! Everyday always had a good joke or two! Rest in Peace Geno until we meet again!
