Evelyn C. Cochran's Obituary
Evelyn Cropp Cochran was born on October 14, 1942 in Culpeper, VA to Allan and Eleanor Cropp. She attended Shenandoah College and Conservatory in Winchester VA where she met Gary P. Cochran, her husband of 34 years from Purcellville, VA. They transferred to VA TECH and were married in August of 1965 in Culpeper VA.
After moving back to Leesburg in 1974 she was a devoted wife, loving mother to her son Brian Cochran of Leesburg VA and a faithful member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. She worked in the Loudoun County Public School system as a library aide and as an executive secretary for Dr. Edgar Hatrick for 20 years.
She was a true testament of faith, love, and perseverance. She passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday July 19th, 2026 after a 25 year valiant struggle following a cerebral bleed in 2001.
She is survived by her son Brian Cochran, daughter-in-law Tanya Cochran, her 5 grandchildren Nick Cochran, Casidy Cochran, Sierra Cochran, Quinn Cochran and Maclain Cochran (Purcellville, VA) cousins John Spicer (Laurel, MD) and Bo Spicer (Ocean City, MD).
Her funeral service will be held on August 1, 2026 at 10am at Leesburg United Methodist Church.
