Fred Nowfel's Obituary
Fuad (Fred) Nowfel, age 90, of Ashburn, VA and formerly of Beirut, Lebanon, passed away on August 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife Mona, his children and grandchildren. Fred was born in Beirut, Lebanon on July 22, 1929, son of the late Shukri Nowfel and Hneyneh Madi. He was a graduate of Middle East College in Lebanon and was employed at the American Embassy in Beirut for many years before moving with his family to the United States in 1975. Upon moving to the Washington DC area, Fred became a small business owner. In retirement he lovingly devoted his time to his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mona Nowfel; his children Chuck (Nan) Nowfel of Round Hill, VA, Jane (Andy) Braumann of Ashburn, VA, and Ramzi (Stephanie) Nowfel of Ashburn, VA; and his brother Camille Nowfel of Washington, DC. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Ryan and Mitchell Braumann; Alexander and Zachary Nowfel; and Jacqualin, Conner and Austin Nowfel. A service will be held at 4:00PM, at LOUDOUN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg, VA, on Friday, August 23, 2019, with Pastor Jennifer Deans officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
