Harry Esmond Brown's Obituary
Mr. Harry Esmond Brown, 89 of Lovettsville, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Rose Hill Nursing Home in Berryville, Virginia.
Born Saturday, July 19, 1924 in Kuling, China, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Callie Brown.
A son of a medical surgeon missionary, Harry lived most of his first decade of his life in China before returning to the United States.
He was a graduate of Blackburn College, received his Master’s degree from Colorado State University.
Harry served his country in the United States Marine Corp in WW II and the Korean War.
He continued to serve his country as a research hydrologist with the US Forest Service then moving into the Department of Agriculture where he retired in 1978.
He was a member of Leesburg Presbyterian Church.
Harry leaves his family to cherish his memory including his wife Louise M. Brown of the home, his children, David C. (Laura) Brown of Orem, UT, Rebecca (Ken)Siles of Orem, UT, and Todd R. (Cathy)Brown of Berryville, VA; his brother-in-law Harold C. Todd of Lexington Park, MD, 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10 am at Leesburg Presbyterian Church located at 207 W Market St Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Pastor Deborah Parson officiating.
Interment will be in Leesburg Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
