Helen D. Coffey's Obituary
Helen D. Coffey, 89, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born on October 15, 1924 in Lynchburg, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Leniel Branchford Doss and the late Bessie Lee Wingfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Coffey, Jr. and her brother, James Branchford Doss.
Mrs. Coffey was a member of the Inova Loudoun Hospital Ladies Board for over 40 years and was a lifelong member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church in which she was very active in Sunday school.
She is survived by her children, Edgar L. “Buddy” Coffey and his wife, Nancy of Bel Air, Maryland and Carol C. Lanham and her husband, David of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren, Heather Coffey Farmer and her husband Chris, Michael Alan Coffey, Karen Lanham Steidle and her husband, Matt, and Paul David Lanham; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Gavin, Norah, Lillian; sisters, Frances Delores Vest of Sterling and Gloria Dare Doss of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel with The Reverend Jim Wishmyer officiating. Burial will follow at Leesburg Union Cemetery.
