I'm so sorry to hear of uncle Horace's passing. I remember him from when i was a kid at Aunt Catherine (Proctor's) house. My mom (Pat Pitts) is Aunt Cora's niece. My mom and her sisters always spoke very highly of them both. It sounds like he was well loved and remembered. My condolences to all family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear that Horace has passed away. I was a part of the Gant family for many years and Horace was always nice to me. The last time I saw him was at Dad's (Paul's) funeral and he looked the same as always. He knew me right off and I couldn't believe that after all these years, he still did. Time flies so fast and to live 90 years it takes a strong person. Horace, God reached out his hand and took you to the heaven land where life begins. I am sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Gant. I lived on Ballou St. in Herndon and he was our TV man. He was a very sweet and soft spoken person. I know he will be missed by all of you. I was privileged to know Mr. Gant. I have no words to describe his kindness, gratefulness, positive attitude and great sense of humor. I will miss his chats about fishing, history and life. I admired him for the way he loved and supported his great-grandson- always being there for him and always looking after him. My sincere condolences to his great – grandson and his family.

One thing I remember most about my Uncle Horace was that he liked to play poker. I remember him coming to our house on the weekends and playing poker ALL NIGHT LONG with my Dad (his brother) and family and friends. He always looked the same to me; he never seemed to age a day. He was always welcoming to me when I visited him. He never had bad things to say about anyone. He had a quiet and soothing disposition.
