Horace Robey Gant's Obituary
Mr. Horace Robey Gant, 90 of Herndon, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011, in the care of loved ones. Horace was one of 11 children born Monday, May 16, 1921 in Leesburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Horace Lee Gant and the late Alice Evelyn Robey Gant.
He served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an Asbestos handler, working in the industry for over 45 years. He was a member of the Local 24. Horace was a loving man who cared for his family and enjoyed fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Florence Lee Smith "Sunny" of Leesburg, VA, adopted son, Brian William Davis of Herndon, VA, sister, Mary C. Frye of Leesburg, VA brother, Lawrence Gant of Leesburg, VA; 3 grandchildren, Deborah, Douglas, and Dodie; and several great and great- great grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, family and friends.
Horace was predeceased by his wife Cora L. Gant and a great grandchild, Kristen Leann Pressel.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, from 10 am until 11 am, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. The Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with the Pastor Joseph L. Adams officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA
