Jim was a long-time supporter of the Oakwood Soccer Club in CT. He would pick up and drive many of our inner-city players to and from games across the Northeast for several years running. Jim was always a giver and he will be sorely missed. Sending condolences to the Humphrey family from Rick, Dave, Betzi and Oakwood
I worked with Jim at GE for a number of years. Without question, he was one of the best people that I've ever met. I am shocked to hear about this tragic incident. It is so sad. Jim's in God's hands now and I will pray for him and his family. Jamie Gioia
Humphrey Family - I've worked with Jim for ~25 years and know him to be a person of integrity, patience and empathy. He will be missed by a family your probably never knew...all the people he worked with. I'll raise a glass to Jim and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Though I didn't know Jim well, I saw him as a kind, gentle person. My hope is that memories of him will help all of you through this very sad time. A donation has been made to the Open Goal Project in his memory.
Jilly, Bobby, and Sue,
Your words, both this and your personal post you shared yesterday are such a beautiful tribute to your dad but I'm so sorry and heartbroken you even had to write it. Your dad really is the best. I'll always remember his gentle way and how patient he was with us when we were crazy middle and high school kids. He never raised his voice or got mad at us for the silly choices we made. I'll never forget how he always had donuts waiting for us in the morning on the weekends and bought us pizza in the afternoons. And only your dad could tolerate a group of middle school girls scream singing in the car on our way to a school dance. I'm pretty sure he just smiled the whole way. He was a truly special person, one of a kind, and just loved you all so much. Sending all my love to the Humphreys and Gallaghers.
Love,
Stefanie (Mastromonaco) Connell
