Jim was a good cousin and great friend. Always had a great time visiting on the farm and spent many a night there. Jack and I loved visiting Jim and Maurine when they built their house next to Aunt Ollie. There are only five of Grandfather and Grandmother Cooper's grand children still around - the three Hough siblings (Bernard, Roland and Phyllis) and Tom and myself. Memories are fading away so I hope the next generation learns more of their hertiage before it's too late.

I know how much Donna, Larry, Nancy, Anna and Alan miss him because I also miss him. The last relative who knew most of the history of Lovettsville.

To the family of James Reed,
I didn't learn about Jimmy's passing until about two weeks ago. Just found this today. Your parents were wonderful neighbors to have and we got out cats from there. One time he told my mother they had plenty when she went over. Have fond memories of him and know he will be missed. You have my sympathy and condolence. Which I would have found this sooner. The most lasting memory of Uncle Jim I have is of how gentle he was, I was very ill and they put me in their bedroom, Dad was in the Hospital and we were all 4 staying "down on the farm" as we called it. When Uncle Jim came in from working on the farm, he cared for me while Aunt Maurine fixed dinner and took care of the other kids, they were bathing my face and arms with luke-warm water constantly to try and bring my fever down. He was a stern man at times, or at least pretended to be, but his kindness and gentleness have stayed first and foremost in my memory always. My deepest sympathy to you all at this time of loss, may God hold you gently and comfort you in the knowledge that he has taken Uncle Jim home. Love, Cathy Breeden
