James B. Reed's Obituary
Mr. James B. Reed, age 89, formerly of Lovettsville, Virginia, passes away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Braddock Heights, MD.
James was born on October 12, 1922 in Lovettsville, Virginia. He was a son of the late Owen Smith Reed and Ollie Mae Cooper Reed. James was raised in Lovettsville and attended the one room school house. He spent most of his life farming.
James was predeceased by his wife Maurine Hatcher Reed, 2 brothers, George and Leo Reed and his sister Vesper Bartlett.
He is survived by his five children Donna Scherma of Ransom, WV, Larry Reed of Leesburg, VA, Nancy Large of Twenty Nine Palms, CA, Anna Mann of Winchester, VA, and Alan Reed of Hanover, MD. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beryl Reed, and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 1pm.
Interment will follow in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or American Heart Association.
