James William Whitehurst's Obituary
James William Whitehurst, Sr., of Hillsboro, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in Louisiana, while recovering from surgery.
Jim was born on November 22, 1940 in Altha, Florida, son of the late James A. Whitehurst and Ruby J. Stubs Brannon.
Mr. Whitehurst served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban blockade.
Moving to Northern VA, he married his wife of 52 years, Susan Brantley Bauer Whitehurst.
He was the owner and operator of Perfection Automotive in Herndon, VA.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory. Four children, including Jay, Mark, David and Susie; 10 grandchildren; a sister Emily Bucur, and brother Albert Whitehurst.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Johnnie Fay, and a grandson William Cooper Whitehurst.
Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, and general outdoorsman. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, or nothing he couldn’t accomplish. He was a great conversationalist who made friends everywhere. Jim was a self-made man with a strong work ethic. He is loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, March 24th, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 25th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
