To Mr. Horney and family, it's quite difficult without Ms. Janie's warm smile and daily greeting of "Happy Monday, or Happy whatever the day. She was so dedicated to her job, and not many people are like that nowadays. I always told her that her job was one of the most important in the organization because she is who the caller hears first or the visitor meets first. Bob, LaTanya & BJ - we are so sorry for your loss and our deepest condolences to you all. When we came across an obituary in the newspaper with her name and no picture, we thought . . . no it couldn't be! Imagine our shock to learn that it truly was! As you may remember, Mom and Janie worked together years ago at Heritage Hall and has many fond memories of their time together. Janie was truly an angel here on earth. Although we saw Janie only once in a while, her infectious, loving spirit captured us and pulled us in whenever we ran into each other. We always walked away with a huge smile. I will miss Ms. Janie's loving spirit and warmth. She loved the Lord and she loved her family, and the extended UNCF family--from staff to students. My heartfelt condolences go to her husband, son and daughter. She spoke about you all, as well as her extended family. I've missed her cheery voice and kind words for these many months, and now mourn her passing.

Ms. Janie was such a sweet, kind and dear friend. She was always so positive and uplifting everyday. She had such a sweet spirit . I will truly miss her, but I will never forget her as I know her spirit lives on. What I remember about Mrs. Janie she is the most sweetest person I have ever met. She was the first person I see in the morning when I arrive at work and the last I see when I leave work. Mrs. Janie always gave me advice and kept me and my kids in her prayers and always smiling she smiled all the time a very spirtual person and a very Happy person. I will truly miss her and everyday when I leave work she would always say kiss the girls for me and drive home safe. I will miss her.
