Herndon UMC Katie McGuire/Virginia Greear Circle of United Women in Faith extend our deepest sympathies to Jen’s family and large circle of friends. She was a valued HUMC staff member and will be missed by all of us. We know she is resting in God’s arms.
Jen was such a selfless, servant leader. She will be greatly missed here in the States, but I'm sure her family in Uganda will deeply miss her as well. She was an influence on the lives of so many children! She was their constant, their fervent supporter, their JaJa! I traveled with Jen to Uganda on three occasions and her devotion to the children never waivered. I rest assured that God has welcomed her and said "Well done, my good and faithful servant!"
I knew Jen as Office Manager at Herndon UM Church. No matter what I asked or needed, she either knew or found/figured out the answer/solution. I shall always remember her competence and her kindness. My deep Sympathy to her family and close friends. Rachel Rogers
Jen & I would often chat at Crossroads on late afternoons or early evenings when only the two of us were there in the peaceful lull between the work day and the evening activities. I cherish those quiet conversations. I also think back on the times I spoke at Crossroads and would glance up to the tech booth to see her low key smile of encouragement. I miss her presence, but her essence will always be there at Crossroads, and most especially will be continue to be felt in Uganda.
What a blessing it was for me to share time in Uganda with Jen and to see her in action there. She has always been a shining example of what it looks like to serve with your whole heart. She was an inspiration and will be deeply missed.
