I recall two young designers creating a park together, when they began a big adventure as newly minted landscape architects. That park became Ball’s Bluff Battlefield Regional Park. I know John was very proud of the place, and I like to think we left our mark, together, on the town of Leesburg.

Anne, I am so sorry to hear about John passing, I just found out yesterday- he was such a kind soul, for the short time I worked at TOL- he was my favorite go to guy.
John and I met during my tenure serving on the Leesburg Environmental Advisory Commission. The EAC was fortunate to have John as the Town's liaison, as he provided his expertise to the committee members while offering personal experience related to the various environmental concerns facing Leesburg. He was a very likeable person, which made it an easy transition to becoming friends with him. John's passing is a signicant loss to the the Town of Leesburg. More importantly, however, his passing is a great loss as a friend. I send my condolences to his family and friends. I am keeping you in my prayers as you face the loss of this gentle soul and wonderful person.
