Joseph B. DiFrancesca's Obituary
Joseph B. DiFrancesca, age 86, passed away with his family by his side at Falcons Landing in Potomac Falls, Virginia on September 19, 2024, after battling Parkinson’s disease and Dementia for many years. He was the loving husband of Linda Lager.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois on September 16, 1938, Joe was the son of the late Salvatore and Beatrice DiFrancesca. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1961. Following his military service Joe spent the next 40 years proudly serving in the United States Federal Government until his retirement. Joe was a devout Roman Catholic and active member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls, Virginia. He so loved his church community.
Joe was a kind, hardworking man who took great pride in all he did. He spent many hours taking care of his lawn and could often be found raking leaves and chatting up his neighbors. Joe was completely devoted to his entire family. He loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He had a great appreciation of the stories, memories and laughter that filled their time together. Family and friends gatherings were some of his happiest moments.
In addition to Linda, his wife of 33 years, Joe is survived by his step-daughter, Jennifer Maria Carvajal, her husband Joseph Bahsoon and granddaughters Mila Francesca and Carmen Sophia Bahsoon of Leesburg, Virginia. Joe is also survived by his niece Jeannie Farrell-Cosgrove from St. Paul, Minnesota. Also to cherish his memory are many generations of cousins and friends.
Joe’s funeral service and burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
