During the two years I worked with Joe he was great to work with. He always went the extra mile. As an ex Navy guy, I spent alot of time with Joe kidding about his Marine background. After his diagnosis this summer, I shared my experience with cancer frequently with Joe. He was invariably was positive and keep driving hard even as he was going through radiation and chemo. He keep helping me and others throughout his treatment.

I am so sorry for you loss, I too went to school with Weldon. We always seem to let time go by so fast that we don't stop and make time with friends and family then they are no longer here. To Mr. Joe and Mrs. Betty Marie, Paula, Suzanne, Adam, Jonah, and Jacob my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I grew up with Weldon, knew him since Kindergarten. All through High School I ate lunch with him every day and though I hadn’t seen him in probably close to 20 years I feel a profound sense of loss. He was one of the most kind, decent and talented people I ever knew. How he treated me and everyone who knew him most exemplified what a true friend should be.I lived out in the middle of nowhere and I didn’t always fit in well at school. I remember when we were freshmen Weldon rode his bike five miles down a busy highway to pay me a visit. He probably never knew how much that meant to me. I’m sorry I never was able to meet his wife and sons and I’m sorry that a prior commitment keeps me from going to Leesburg for the funeral. I’m sure you all knew how smart Weldon was and he was great with anything mechanical. But the thing I’ll always remember about him is how easygoing and laid back he was and what good company he was to be around. He was the type of friend that was there for you at a moment’s notice and though we had been separated for many years this passing makes the world a much emptier place because Weldon Kight is no longer here. If at any time there is any thing I can do to make this loss any easier for you please don’t hesitate to contact me. I know Weldon would do the same for me. You all will constantly remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I always found Weldon to be a great young man. He was alsways helpful, kind, respectful, considerate and always a gentleman. I know he will be greatly missed, but remember he will always be with you in spirit.
