Judith Burgess Ready, 85, of Ashburn, VA, passed away on October 27, 2024, after a courageous journey with dementia. Throughout her battle, she remained surrounded by the love of her family, who will forever cherish her memory. Bo Read Obituary
I just found out about Judy's passing. We were Middletown High School classmates and good friends. Our mothers even graduated the same year together, 1929. Judy and I would talk a few times a year and we talked some after her move from Virginia Beach. Being sick so much myself I hadn't noticed I hadn't heard from her until today. my condolences, tho late to her loving family.
I was deeply saddened to learn that Judy had passed away. We were college roommates and have been friends ever since. We were both part of the Miami University Marching Band. I was one year ahead of Judy, and in my senior year she was head majorette and I was drill team captain. She was in my wedding. We did not live near each other after graduation, but we kept in touch by letters, Christmas cards, birthday cards, and phone calls. The last time I talked to her was December of 2022 when she called to make sure I had her phone number and new address, and we had such a good phone visit! Last week I received back the Christmas card I had sent to her this year, saying she was not there and, they were unable to forward, I left a voice mail and a text on her phone but did not receive any answer. That's when I went online and found this obituary. My deepest sympathies to her children and all her family. Judy was one of the nicest people I have known, and we always had so much fun together! I am thankful for her friendship over the years, and I will truly miss her.

We planned a sisters trip to Virginia beach one year and Judy was gracious enough to open her beautiful home to Dorothy and her three sisters and their children to stay with her. She was a truly great hostess and generous lady! As Dorothy ‘s sister I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with Judy at family gatherings and special occasions, and have always enjoyed her company. She was intelligent, witty and always had something interesting to say. She also had a great sense of humor and could make the best of a bad situation. On one of our family outings to see the Nats play we had just got our food from the concession stand, and we’re heading to our seats when I got jostled in the crowd and my little cups of ketchup flew from my tray and landed all over Judy’s white dress pants! I was horrified and she was so easy going about it! We wiped it up as best we could, but there’s no getting ketchup out of white pants. She was destined to have to wear those stained pants the rest of the evening, and she joked about it , saying it added the red to her blue and white outfit! It’s one of my fondest memories of Judy. I’m glad I got to know her! She will be missed by everyone that knew her. My deepest sympathy to John, Dorothy, Caroline, Emily and Jack, and to Jenny and hee family. Sincerely, Marianne Montgomery
