Katherine Frye Wenner's Obituary
Katherine Frye Wenner, 72 of Lovettsville, Virginia passed on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center in Leesburg, Virginia following a courageous 4 year battle with non-hodgkins lymphoma.
A lifelong resident of Lovettsville, she was born on Sunday, April 12, 1942 to the late Luther Frye and the late Annabell Hickman Frye. Kathy, as she was known by family and friends, grew up as a member of Mt. Olivet UMC in Lovettsville. A 1960 graduate of Loudoun County High School, she proudly worked as a secretary for the US Department of Agriculture for 38 years until retiring in 1998. The last 6+ years, she worked as a receptionist for RE/MAX Premier in Purcellville, VA, and truly enjoyed her job and the friends she made there. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandsons.
Kathy leaves behind the love of her life, Lawrence E. Wenner, Sr. of Lovettsville, to whom she would be married 53 years on March 31st. She is also survived by her children, Karen Wenner Cooper and husband Josh, son Larry Wenner, Jr. and wife Lisa, and her beloved sister Shirley Sanbower and husband Reggie, all of Lovettsville, as well as a sister-in-law, Lucy Rutherford of Harpers Ferry, WV. Her memory will be forever cherished by those who called her Nana, her 5 grandsons, Ben Cooper, Trip Wenner, Ryan Cooper, Chase Wenner, and Tyler Cooper.
Funeral services began at 11:00 AM on Monday, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Rev. Roland England officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA.
The family received friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
