As my first commanding officer, I will never forget CDR Juengling: He was a great listener; always had positive advice and gave encouragement. Selfless, he was always there when I needed help. I won't ever think of him gone; he lives on with his legacy and those whose lives he touched in order to them make better officers, better people.

I am saddened beyond belief to hear of Kurt's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathies, as no one will really be able to understand the depth of this loss for everyone whose lives Kurt impacted in a very positive manner. Kurt was my overachieving plebe summer and plebe year roomie at the Boat School, and my CO "from afar" at DIA 0819. We had recently joked that it was hilarious that we ended up in the twilight of our careers in the same spot we started: roommates. Kurt was a man of honor with a staggering intelect and deep love of country. He was a mentor without peer, and I will miss him greatly. "Smooth Sailing on a Beam Reach, Shipmate." Mt thoughts and prayers are with the entire Juengling family. Kurt was a tremendously gifted and motivated Navy Officer. As the OIC in RIA 19, Kurt stopped by frequently to visit with me and I will reflect on those moments in the days and weeks to come. Kurt was an outstanding Naval officer that I had the utmost privilege of working with during his tours at U.S. Central Command.
