Kurt William Juengling
Navy Captain (Select) Kurt William Juengling of Ashburn, V A, died of war –related injuries on Thursday, July 28th, 2011. He was 46 years old.
He was born to a Navy family at Sangley Point Naval Station, Cavite City, Philippines, on July 9, 1965. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1988. A veteran of the First and Second Gulf War conflicts, he most recently completed a second tour in Iraq. His record of achievements included many personal awards including the Bronze Star. His untimely passing is attributed to injuries sustained last year from a roadside bomb blast in Iraq.
Captain (S) Juengling was commanding a Naval Reserve unit in Colorado Springs and was also employed with AT&T Government Systems as an Architectural Computer Engineer.
His is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two children, Elizabeth and Robert ; his parents, Captain (Ret.) Robert and Anita; and a sister, Lisa Hayes, all living in Ashburn.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg at 2:00 on Saturday, August 20th, 2011. Services and interment with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
