LaRue Muth Yeakel's Obituary
LaRue Muth Yeakel, 88, of Frederick, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 20th 2011 at Spring Arbor of Leesburg, VA. Mrs. Yeakel was born August 22nd 1922 in Upper Milford, PA. Her husband of 63 years Carl David Yeakel predeceased her in 2005. Many years ago Mrs. Yeakel worked with Rodale Books in Allentown and later at the General Services Administration in Washington DC. She lived in Rockville for many years before moving to Frederick in 1982. Mrs. Yeakel was a charter member of the Crusader Lutheran Church in Rockville, MD. She will be remembered for her love of Christmas and the 1,200 plus Christmas cookies she made each year for her family and friends.
Mrs. Yeakel is survived by her son Dale Yeakel (Gloria) of Potomac Falls, VA; four siblings: Linwood Miller, Leonore Schantz, Lois Flexer, Sylvia Rader all of the Allentown PA area; three grandsons: David Carl Yeakel, Richard Patrick Yeakel both of San Diego, CA; Christopher George Yeakel of Potomac Falls and numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 25th 2011 at Christian Fellowship Church, 21673 Beaumeade Circle in Ashburn, VA with Pastors Fran Stoll and Fred Clark officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
