Laura A. Beaver's Obituary
Laura Anne Beaver, 59 of Ashburn, passed away on July 28, 2013 in Lansdowne, Virginia.
Laura was born on September 24, 1953 in Arlington, Virginia to the late John Charles Beaver and Laura Jean Beaver of Mantua Hills. She graduated from Woodson High School, Fairfax, VA in 1971 and Ursinus College in Pennsylvania in 1975 where she studied physical education. Laura will be remembered as a beloved softball and basketball coach by the many young athletes she trained for over 20 years at Fairfax County Public Schools. After leaving Herndon High School in the late 1990s she continued her teaching career at Centreville High School where she taught physical education until June 2013. She had a great sense of humor, held a tremendous love for animals, and was an avid golfer.
She is survived by Teddy Roxann Hawley, brothers John Keith Beaver (Tracey) and Charles Douglas Beaver, her sister Susan Jean Truba (Greg), loving nephews (Christopher, Jonathan and Jack) and her niece, Alison.
A memorial service will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE Leesburg, VA on Saturday August 3, 2013 at 3:00 PM. A reception will be held at the Lakeshore Apartment Clubhouse, 44190 Snowshoe Square Ashburn, VA immediately following the service. Private graveside services will be held at Columbia Gardens in Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
