OBITUARY INFORMATION
LAWRENCE WASHINGTON CARTER, JR. , 79, of Purcellville, Virginia died on Friday, November 30th 2012 in Leesburg, Virginia. Mr. Carter was born December 19, 1932 in Loudoun County to the late Lawrence W. and Blanche Calvin Carter. He was raised in Loudoun County and moved to Prince Georges County after he married the love of his life Hazel on July 2nd 1955. Mr. Carter was a painting contractor around the DC Metro area for over 30 years before retiring and moving back to Loudoun County in 1975. He was a lover of all sports but especially the Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Carter will be remembered for his loving and joking personality as well as his willingness to help those in need.
Mr. Carter is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Hazel L. Carter of Purcellville; a daughter: Cathy Sue Huffman of Woodbridge, VA; a son: Lawrence L. Carter, III of Triangle, VA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters: Doris Jean Bulter of Jacksonville, FL, Margaret Butler of Mt. Airy, MD, Patty Woodward of Sterling, VA; a brother: James Carter of Newport News, VA; a sister in law: Anna Thomas; two brother in laws: Shirley Thomas and Clarence Holtzclaw; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 5th 2012 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg from 11am until time of services at 1:00PM with Rev. Paul Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, VA.
