Oh my, I'm only now in mid-2025 learning of L.G.'s having gone to be in God's presence. Sending my love to his family. I have such WONDROUS memories of being a young girl listening to him sing in our church with the Loudoun Gospellaires! His voice soared and gave me chills. He was always a classy man and was so jovial with my family there at church. Thank you, L.G., for the lovely music, smiles, and brightness.
L.G. and I were stationed together at Lowry AFB, CO in 1956 and teamed up again at McChord AFB, Tacoma, Wash in 1959. We had some great times - he was the nicest guy I met in the military. We drove together in his car from CO to our homes on leave prior to going overseas I then met him and his parents at the DC airport to fly to CA for our shipment to the Far East. I still laugh thinking about him hauling clothes out of hiis suitcase at the airport because he was over the weight limit. Think his folks were a little embarrassed.
My condolences to all the family on the loss of one of the 'really good guys.' Sadly, I sent him an anonymous Christmas card 2 - 3 years ago with the intent of following it up with a letter but failed to do so. We intended to stop by and visit on our way on vacation if convenient, but it never materialized.

My condolences to L.G. 's family and friends. He was a true Virginia gentleman. We sang many duets at Ashburn Presbyterian when I was growing up, perhaps "Whispering Hope" and "Peace in the Valley" as favorites. I regret that I didn't hear of his passing in order to attend his service, but know that he is in God's hand and singing with the angels.

To the Poland family: I am so sorry to hear L.G.'s passing. He was named after my father Leonard and Uncle Gilmer. Mom's birthday was August 10th, I'm sure she welcomed him with open arms and they are looking down on us. Much love to all, Dorothy and Jimmy.
