Leonard Gilmer Poland's Obituary
Leonard Gilmer “L.G.” Poland, 76, former owner of Loudoun Furniture Company entered into eternal rest August 8, 2013 at his home near Leesburg, VA.
He was born on January 20, 1937 to the late Welby C. Poland and Viola Mae Poland of Ashburn, Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Vincent “Vince” Poland.
L.G.is survived by his wife, Rita Poland, son, James “Jimmy” Poland, step-son Wally Leeth, step-daughter Christine James, brother Charles Poland (Barbara), three sisters, Betty Smith (Ernest), Peggy Lloyd (Don), Vickie White (Jack), grandson Jayson Poland (Chantee), two great grandchildren, aunt Roma Bowman, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
L.G. served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church where he sang in the choir. L.G. had a beautiful singing voice having performed on the radio and in numerous weddings and funerals. L.G. loved life and was a friend to everyone.

Viewing will be held from 6 to 9 pm, Monday, August 12, 2013 all at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, followed by funeral services on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Darryl Walter officiating.
interment will be held with military honors, at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
