Linda Joan Huxta's Obituary
Linda Joan Huxta passed away peacefully on December 5 at the age of 77.
She was born on December 30, 1946 to the late Leland and Luella Doolittle in Cooperstown, NY and grew up in Lancaster, PA. She graduated from McCaskey High School and Goldy-Beacom College.
Lin married her loving husband, Rick, in 1969. After staying home to raise their two daughters, Kristie and Kellye, she returned to school to pursue her dream of teaching. Upon graduation from Millersville University, she taught English at Martin Meylin Middle School in Lancaster, PA until the family relocated to Leesburg, VA in 1990. She worked in the Loudoun County Administration offices until her retirement in 2012.
Whether traveling, enjoying the theater, dancing to Motown music, or volunteering for political campaigns, Lin brought energy and enthusiasm to all she did. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her smile was never bigger than when she was with her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband and survived by her sister Barbara Brooks of Lancaster, PA, Perry Doolittle of Lake Worth, FL, her daughters Kristie Leigh and her husband Brandon, Kellye Wishard and her husband Jason, and grandchildren Hunter, Kylie, Carson, Kenley, and Julia.
Her family and friends will forever remember her strong will, vibrant spirit, and contagious laughter.
Services will be held on December 11th, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor her remarkable life. Visitors will be received at 10am, followed by services at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Blue Ridge Hospice
