Lisa Beth Whitaker's Obituary
LISA BETH WHITAKER, 51, of Ashburn, VA passed away on Friday, October 4th 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Whitaker was born March 23rd 1962 in Lynn, MA to the late Leonard Sanford and Mrs. Marna Lynn Anderson Sanford. Lisa moved to the Northern Virginia area with her family in 1968. After marrying the love of her life, Mr. Mark H. Whitaker in 1992 they resided in Reston for a few years before moving to Ashburn. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Manassas, VA. She enjoyed knitting, watching the Washington Redskins, and had a great affection for the sea shore; but above all she loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Whitaker will be remembered as a very loving, caring, and positive woman that was always willing to help others.
Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her beloved husband, Mark; her mother Marna; her brothers Scott Sanford and Todd Sanford; and her sister Kim Jankauskas; three nephews, four nieces and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 26th 2013 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA with Pastor Jeffrey Wilson officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
