My Dear Sweet Friend,
Although the miles kept us apart, all of our memories have remained in my heart throughout the years.
The first time I saw you, I knew we were going to be fast friends. Our neighborhood was new, and you had just moved in across the street. I was taking Kristina to school when we saw you out in the front yard watering your lawn, wearing your turquoise bikini, with your beautiful long, full red hair. I stopped and introduced myself, and you were so colorful, funny, and friendly that I instantly knew I loved you.
Before long, Kristina and Kathleen became the best of friends, and Cecil and Heather were two peas in a pod. We were always doing everything together. Larry was just as colorful and friendly, with his wonderful Southern accent and warm hospitality.
When Larry went to Alaska for the Valdez oil spill, you and I created our own special tradition. We would have our morning coffee in our fancy cups and saucers, taking turns hosting at each other's house, serving delicious pastries while sharing wonderful conversations. We shared dinners, BBQ.s pool parties with the kids. Those times are some of my sweetest memories.
We both loved fashion and decorating and never needed much of an excuse to go shopping. One memory that still makes me smile happened after dinner one evening when we decided to go to TJ Maxx. It was around eight o'clock, and we had Kristina and Kathleen with us. I heard loud voices in the background but didn't think much of it. Then I looked over and saw you crawling across the floor with Kathleen. You whispered, "Get down! The store is being robbed, and he has a gun!" We all huddled by the emergency exit until it was safe. It was certainly one of the most dramatic shopping trips we've ever had!
You had such an incredible flair for decorating. Everything you touched was elegant and classy, yet you always remained so down-to-earth, fun, and full of life. Your laughter, your kindness, and your vibrant spirit made everyone around you feel special.
Margie, I love you and will always keep you in my heart. Thank you for the beautiful memories and for the gift of your friendship. Until we meet again, you will forever hold a special place in my heart.
