Mercedes Benitez's Obituary
MERCEDES BENITEZ, 89, passed peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the home of her son, Alexander in Lovettsville, Virginia. Mrs. Benitez was born on February 15th, 1920 in the Dominican Republic to the late Francisco and Maximina Valazquez. Her husband of 42 years Manuel S. Benitez, and several sisters and brothers also predeceased him. Mrs. Benitez resided in Winchester, Virginia before moving to Lovettsville. She was part of the church family at Church of the Holy Spirit Anglican in Ashburn, Virginia. Mrs. Benitez was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was baptized Catholic and lived for the Lord helping everyone she was able to. Mrs. Benitez was an active member of the Tuesday Morning Lovettsville Woman’s Bible Study Group that met in her home. She enjoyed cooking and loved to garden. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Mrs. Benitez is survived by her two sons: Alexander (Kristin) Benitez of Lovettsville, Leonard D. Benitez of Clifton, NJ; one brother: Elaudio; 6 Sisters: Ana Cristina, Flavia, Sondra, Chela, Ana Gabriela, Ana Josefina; Four grandchildren: Katherine Marie, Amy Kristina, Anna Elizabeth, Thomas Ayres and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Brown/ Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 32 East Broad Way, Lovettsville, VA on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 1pm until the time of services at 2:00pm with Rev. Clancy Nixon officiating. Interment will follow in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
