we still love and miss you Meemaw. when you passed on a part of us died but I know you are happy in Heaven and now my Mother is there with you. Lost you both, but I am glad you are no longer suffering and my Mother isn't either. Love you for eternity
Back in 1992 or 1993, I was over at Minnie's (Grandma's) Hangin out with Merv after school. I remember getting a bad case of the hiccups that no amount of breath holding or water could cure. Minnie said "Foote! You need a big match!" I had no idea what she was talking about and so I asked her. She said "Take a big match and put it behind your ear." She then pulled a thick wooden match from a box on the kitchen shelf and handed it to me. I placed it behind my ear and the hiccups stopped immediately. Who knew?
She was quite literally the sweetest woman I have ever met. She was never judgmental. She was always kind and she had a way of making all of us kids feel at home whenever we were around. She will be deeply missed.
