Nathan Lane Powell's Obituary
NATHAN LANE POWELL, 31, of Leesburg, Virginia died on Thursday May 7, 2009 in Leesburg. Nathan was born August 7, 1977 in Winchester, Virginia. He was raised in Lovettsville, Virginia and graduated with the class of 1996 from Loudoun Valley High School. Nathan was stationed in Hawaii and served in Afghanistan while serving his country in the United States Army. He was presently working with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in Oakton, Virginia. Nathan was an avid hunter and loved to go fishing. His father Ronnie E. Powell and maternal grandfather Rexford H. Lundy predeceased him.
Nathan is survived by his beloved mother Carol Lundy Powell of Leesburg; Fiancé: Karla Ranee Tanner of Leesburg; two children: Ethan Powell and Sloane Tanner of Leesburg; one brother: Brandon A. Powell of Bluemont, VA; maternal grandmother: Betty Joe Lundy of Fredericksburg, VA; paternal grandparents: Henry and Norma Powell of Oakhill, VA a host of other family members, friends and cousins including Lindsey VanHoven.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel on Saturday May 9, 2009 from 6 until the time of services at 8pm. Reverend Terry Overstreet will be officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 11:30am on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Arlington National Cemetery. Those that wish to attend should arrive at the administration building on the grounds of the cemetery by 11:00am.
