Even though I only knew Benny for about one year, that year seemed like many years. We talked about that not too long ago. It was truly the best year of my life. Benny always made me laugh, gave wonderful advice, and I always brought in a home cooked meal for him to have at lunch time every day when he came by. He was never in a hurry to get back to work. Nothing ever seemed to bother him. He was always at ease. We talked on the phone daily. If I could hear his voice, I knew he was fine.
I visited with Benny two days before he went to Heaven, and he said to me don't let anyone have my pears, I will be by on my lunch hour tomorrow to eat them. That was priceless. My sincere thanks to his children and Muffie and Pam for keeping me updated when he couldn't. It really meant a lot to me.
Benny, my dear friend, life hasn't been the same without you in it. I miss you as well as your priceless smile.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family who I have had the pleasure of meeting, Aaron, Shawni, Tiffany, Muffie, Pam, Johnny and Bobby.
Some people come and come people go, but your dear father and brother, Benny, left footprints on my heart.
Rest in peace my friend.
