Phillip was my dear friend since 2012. We met at church in Leesburg, VA. He became an adopted sibling in my family over the years and miles. Phillip's grit was tested numerous times as he fought a cascade of illnesses worsened by exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He served two tours as a U.S. Army Special Forces Member. As a mark of the man's toughness, his complaints were few. He was a patriot of the highest order as he served his nation in combat and later in government service. Phillip's
intellect and dedication to hard work saw him rise to the heights of the F.A.A. including White House morning briefings under two presidents. His generosity to family and friends was without end from buying cars and paying rent for relatives, to sending thoughtful gifts and remembering birthdays. He was an avid fan of his hero, John Wayne along with enjoyment of classic war movies. We enjoyed concerts, plays, movies and family gatherings in Florida and Virginia. He showed a quiet depth of empathy and care for others on his life journey. I will miss his unique wit and corny
banter in social settings. Phillip got his wish...to live and die in his own home. He went to sleep on earth and woke up in heaven...
Phillip definitely deserved an easy home going. Dear one, rejoice in your new home with your parents and friends. Suffering is no more. Peace is granted.

Phil will always and forever be my HERO. The strongest, honorable and loving man I have known. He will be so greatly missed.
"People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered - Love them Anyway,
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives - Do good anyway,
People really need help but may attack you if you help them - Help them anyway,
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth - Give the world the
best you have anyway"
