We wish to express our sincere condolences to Red's family. What a simply wonderful person he was. We will always remember him with great fondness and love. I was a young police officer in Prince William County in 1977 when Red "talked" me into becoming a member at St. Thomas UMC. He baptized my deceased wife Carol and our two daughters, Jenny & Amy, and accepted my transfer to St. Thomas. When I remarried in 1992 after Carol's death in 1991 I found out that Red had married Kathy and her deceased first husband Sonny in 1975. And her two children, Stephen & Crystal were also baptized by Red.
I saw Red and spoke to him over the phone a few times over the years but had lost track of him recently. My wife and I live in Lake Anna since I retired. On Easter Sunday we drove to Manassas-St. Thomas UMC to be with old friends and family. We saw Red's name of the prayer list. Leslie Oaks, the Assistant Minister told us that Red had just passed away during the previous day.
I shall always remember the kindness he showed to all. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May God bless Judy and the entire Hough family during your time of loss. I am sad to say that Kathy and I can't make it to Red's celebration of life tonight. Kathy is scheduled for surgery tomorrow and we have several pre-opt things we must do.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.##imported-begin##Wayne & Kathy Jones##imported-end##
