Rev. Osborne B. "Red" Hough's Obituary
REV. OSBORNE “RED” B. HOUGH, 82, of Manassas, Virginia, formerly of Leesburg, Virginia, died on Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Manassas. Rev. Hough was born December 12, 1926 in Waterford, Virginia to the late Maurice C. and Mary Mock Hough. He served his country in the United States Army. Rev. Hough graduated from Randolph Macon College and Wesley Theological Seminary. Rev. Hough was a Methodist Minister in the area for many years. He was ordained a Deacon in 1962 and an Elder in 1965. His first appointment was at Tidewater Trail Methodist Charge in 1958. He served Pender Methodist Church from 1961 until he was appointed as the associate pastor of Annandale Methodist Church in 1968. In 1973 he was appointed to St Thomas United Methodist Church in Manassas. His last appointment was Herndon United Methodist Church from 1978 until his retirement in 1986. In retirement he served as assistant pastor at Galilee United Methodist Church from 1996-2003.
Rev. Hough is survived by his beloved wife Judy C. Hough of Manassas; one son: Rev. Neil R. and Rev. Anne Hough of Stephenson, VA; one daughter: Laura and Chris Shelton of Sterling, VA; two stepsons: Kevin and Katie Mayjor of Colorado Springs, CO, Bryan and Jeannie Mayjor of Corvallis, OR; one cousin: Mary Frances and Marshall Kirby of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren: Robert and Andrew Richardson, Megan Mayjor, Jacob Shelton and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Galilee United Methodist Church, 45425 Winding Road, Sterling, VA 20165. Interment will be private.
Donations may be made to the Galilee United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Manassas-St. Thomas United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8899 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20110.
