Shawn was honestly unique, he actually just came to my mind, so I felt compelled to write about him. Shawn wasn't afraid to embrace doing things in his own way and I see that as a strength. I honestly saw alot of my own personality in him. even the not so societal acceptable stuff I understand because I've done simular stuff. But trust me I don't believe he was bad I know he isn't. I think He just doesn't like being confined by rules, which is honestly normal for all of us to some degree at some point in all our live. We all gotta remember to try not to judge people because this world is a school and we are all at different points and different grades. Lastly I hope this message helps his family and just remember that no one truly dies they just transform into a different form.
Although I did not get a chance to see Sean as much due to living in CA, I do fondly remember taking turns spinning him and his sister Sophie around and around playing "Airplane"! They were both having so much fun Sean and Sophie couldn't wait to "fly" again. I doubt that either one of them remember it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and during that "play time", I began to love those kids!!

This is a tremendous loss; the passing of a young man who was enthusiatically embracing life and building and launching the next phase of his journey. I send my sincere and heartfelt condolences to you Tina, Sophie, Alexa, Mary, Alen and his entire family and friends.
I will remember Sean as a loving, thoughtful, caring young man who shared his heart with family and friends. I often heard his words of love, so endearing, and his appreciation towards his mom, sisters, nephew, grandmother and step grandfather for their unquivering love and support. His family was his foundation of love, connection and meaning, "his true circle".
I appreciated Sean's insightfulness, his inquisitive nature, and his yearning to learn, not just about the typical day to day kind of things....about life, the intricacies of relationships, what it meant to be a good person, the significance of good work and how to stay true to one's path. Remarkable values.
When I think of Sean, I see him as a bright light, a shining star in the night sky. I imagine he is looking from above at his family with love, and at other times, with a huge grin and a twinkle in his eyes.
May all who loved him feel his presence of light, humor and love in the comings and goings of your everyday life.

Another chaotic ski trip with evening mischief of one kind and another to join, but as Zoë age 3 sits alone coloring at a table that seats 20, Sean at age fourteen sees a friend who might just need a friend. Hit sits down to chat quietly and draw. I’m filled with memories of his sensitivity toward others, young and us ol’ folks to join in fun-loving conversation and just being together. I feel certain as we remember Sean his good-nature prankster, kind hearted and gentle spirit will live. Charlie was working on door bell repair and the old one just popped off and I think, there’s Sean’s energy joking around in the world all around us. Sean we love you and so proud of all your strength shown in blazing your trail. I hope we can all be filled with all the memories as we hold beautiful Sean in hearts. My thoughts and prayers go out to the wonderful Houlian family. I love you so dearly and have had so many memories with you guys. First I want to say that you have been in my thoughts and prayers since I received the news and I am always here for you.
I continue to think about the call that I received from my family when I was told the news. And continue to think about the memories that I had with Sean, old and new. The conversations that we recently had and the happiness that he was experiencing in life.He was a great man, he was someone that loved life, and was ready to conquer the world. He loved you guys so dearly and told me that all the time. The memories that we have all shared together will never be forgotten.
