Terry (TG) was a great friend and mentor who I had the privilege of knowing for
over 30 years.I have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent together; whether it be at work, Arizona golf trips or just hanging out. Terry was extremely well respected and had such a positive impact on so many people.Knowing Terry ,I would describe him as a true competitor…always competing against himself to to be the best he could be for his family and friends. He truly will be missed.

Terry was such a fun neighbor. I would chat with him as I was always walking the pups and he was always working on his yard. We admired his work ethic and attention to detail. Terry was a fantastic neighbor of ours while we lived in River Creek. Always there to help and always fun to have a drink with. He was such a wonderful man and an excellent golfer. A true joy to be around. My wife Lisa and I were very sorry to hear of his passing. We are sending our prayers, love, condolences, and sympathy to his wonderful wife Carol and his entire family.

Our hearts are broken at the loss of such a good friend and wonderful person. There are many things I admired about TG, like his energy and his positive outlook. But, the thing that struck me most about TG was how much he loved his family. When he and Carol were with their children and and grandchildren you could see him glow with happiness. It warmed my heart to watch him with his grandkids every summer during TG Camp. He shared his love of the game of golf with them and they will always have wonderful memories of their time spent with TG on and off the course, just like Tony and I will.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Terry during my time as General Manager of River Creek Club. Terry always treated my like an equal and showed respect and appreciation for all the hard working members of our team. He was an outstanding golfer and a true family man and I enjoyed getting off campus to share an IPA and watch football together on more than one occasion. Dearest Gilbert Family, we know T.G. is in a better place but we are heartbroken he was taken from all of us so early . Beth and I feel fortunate and honored to have known T.G. I’m especially happy to have shared several years of great golf, friendship, and camaraderie with T.G. and the GOAT group. I’m echoing sentiments many of us have. We so enjoyed watching Terry arrive for a tee time 30 seconds early, only to watch him smash one down the middle of the fairway with no warmup. Then he’d proceed to dazzle us with his brilliant wedge play. He was the ultimate “grinder”, both in golf and life. There were so many instances of him being seemingly out of a hole, only to zap a wedge shot inches from the hole for a tie or victory. We joked about T.G. paying for his grandkid’s education with his multitude of winnings from all of us. He did enjoy winning and taking our money, and honestly, if you had to lose to someone, Terry was the guy we enjoyed losing to. We will miss him dearly but we’re thankful for the wonderful time we had with him. Paul and Beth Ayers

Uncle Terry was truly a friend to all and a joy to be around. He was always there and ready to celebrate any occasion. He will be missed but we know he is living it up and enjoying his life with all those we’ve loved and lost.
