I lived in Sterling, Va. and met Tommy thru baseball, our sons played together. Tommy and myself ended up coaching baseball and working together. He was a great friend, I loved to stop by his garage and visit. I know we will meet again and pick up the old stories where we left off. My prayers to the family in this tough time.
I have a great memory of Tommy back in 1979. I had just arrived at a family reunion, and started greeting people I hadn't seen in a long time. Although the family reunions were full of family members there were plenty of friends of the family also. When I reached Tommy, we greeted one another and made some small talk. I asked Tom who he was here with, and he answered, My Mom. I asked who's your mom, and he said with a smile on his face, your Aunt Catherine. I said oh you're my cousin. He laughed out loud and said yep sure am. I laughed like crazy, little embarrassed, but understanding a good memory was made for me for a lifetime. A good laugh with good family.
