Thomas Howard Beckner's Obituary
Thomas Howard Beckner, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Leesburg, Virginia (Miracle Ranch) on April 4, 2019.
Tom grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and lived most of his life in the Northern Virginia area. An aptitude for anything mechanical, he worked in the automotive industry making repairs, doing body work, painting, restorations, sales, and management; you name it, he did it. He even taught his then pregnant wife how to tape up a car and prep it for painting. In the 80’s he changed careers and started working on HVAC systems doing residential work, then working at commercial properties in Fairfax. He worked for the school system for ten years and retired as an HVAC mechanic for Fairfax County Public Schools in 2013.
Tom loved to read and educated himself on a vast number of topics. He would often say “don’t take my word for it, you need to read for yourselves”. Tom loved baseball, coaching, and talking pitching strategies with his boys as they were growing up; it was a huge part of his life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and tweaking it to get that perfect Harley sound as well as dabbling in stock market day trading. Tom read his Bible on a regular basis, never missed saying the blessings at a meal, and telling his children he loved them every day.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Marcus (Jack) and Catherine Beckner, and sisters, Linda Beckner and Donna Clemmer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Jo-Ann Beckner, daughter, Leslie and husband, Anthony (Tony) Rozzoni, sons, Daniel and David Beckner, two grandchildren, Gabriella Marie and Anthony Thomas Rozzoni, and numerous sister and brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins to cherish his memory.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13 at 12:00 P.M. at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catocin Circle, S.E. Leesburg, VA 20175. The family will receive friends and celebrate Tom’s life at an open house following the service from 1:30-4:30 P.M. at the home of his daughter located at 25625 Emerson Oaks Dr, Aldie, VA 20105.
