Todd Joseph Faucette's Obituary
Todd Joseph Faucette 67 of Paeonian Springs, Virginia passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia surrounded by his wife and friends after battling a long illness.
Born in Yonkers, NY he was the youngest son of the late Joseph P. Faucette and the late Marion Molinari Faucette. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 35 years Nancy, brother Douglas P. Faucette and his wife Virginia of Potomac, Maryland and numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
Todd ‘s family left Yonkers and moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, “The Sho” where he grew up and loved the outdoors and the saltwater life. He was an avid gunman and loved all that the land of pleasant living had to offer. He attended Wicomico High School and Massanutten Academy, and joined the Central Intelligence Agency in 1980 where he met the love of his life “Miss Nancy” Dimock.
Todd had a huge impact on the intelligence mission and his colleagues. Todd served with distinction for 35 years at the Agency and received numerous awards, unit citations, and promotions, including promotion to the Senior Intelligence Service, for his technical expertise the Agency employed around the world and in some of the most challenging intelligence issues of our generation. Todd was also respected and admired as one of the Agency’s premiere Technical Intelligence Officers, by his colleagues. He was a leader in his field and mentored numerous officers. He worked tirelessly to ensure that the next generation could meet mission and had the benefit of the experience and lessons from his generation. All loved him, respected his unsurpassed expertise and willingness to share and invest in each of them. They also loved his bigger than life personality, huge heart, and wicked –if sometimes irreverent—sense of humor. No one was immune. The Agency recognized his many achievements and everlasting impact on the intelligence world with a Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal –one of the top medals the Agency awards—before he retired.
In retirement, Todd enjoyed woodworking, skeet shooting with his possey, and spending time with Miss Nancy and his Pet Connect rescue dog from Tunisia, Africa - Charlie. He fiercely loved his country and cherished the freedoms we enjoy. He was also proud of his service to our great nation during his career at the Agency and considered it an honor of a lifetime to serve alongside the men and women at the Agency, the “Silent Warriors.”
A celebration of life will take place in late spring. Donations in Todd’s honor can be made to The Agency Memorial Foundation, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, or Pet Connect Rescue ([email protected]).
