Trin Suon's Obituary
TRIN SUON, 76 of Leesburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her home in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born Tuesday, January 17, 1950, in Takeo, Cambodia, she was the daughter of the late
Path Suon and the late Klin Suon Yiv. During her younger years, she lived in her home country of Cambodia. In 1975, she and her family had to flee the country due to the civil war going on at the time. They came to the United States and began a new life. She came to the US with her husband, 6-month-old son, and her two brothers. She lived in Memphis Tennessee for 4 years and eventually settled in Northern Virginia.
While in Northern Virginia, Trin lived in various parts of the area, including Arlington, Reston, Herndon, and eventually Leesburg. She was a hard worker and worked in various capacities during her life in the United States. It wasn’t until later that she found her calling in life, working as a respite care worker and taking care of a child with special needs. As a respite care provider, she was patient, caring, and nurturing for the child she was working with. These same characters followed her when she was a grandmother. During her time living in Northern Virginia, she developed many close relationships with friends and family from around the area, which she continued to have until her passing. Taking family road trips and spending quality time with the ones she loved were things she loved doing and looked forward to. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends over the years, and some of her many interests were having people over and making meals for them. For a period in her life, she was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed the relationships she had as member and especially cooking for missionaries who would come to visit her from time to time. Although she was no longer active later in her life, she continued to talk about the great relationships she had while she was an active member of the church.
Her family was most important to her. As a wife, she was a devoted partner to her beloved husband of 56 years and a loving mother and grandmother. As a mother, she had the opportunity to witness many milestones as any mother could cherish during her lifetime. The one she cherished and loved most was having an opportunity of being a grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandson and cherished every moment.
She was known for her work ethic, kindness, perseverance, and patience. She will be missed by many who loved and adored her.
She is survived by her beloved husband Bruce Bun Pa Lon, her son Brandon Sithkun Lon, and his partner of 6 years Taylor Vu, and her grandson William along with her brother Sary Suon, sisters Yam and Yem Suon. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Lindo Suon (Sovaddine), Rainy Suon (Qais), Terry Suon (Pisey), Thira Suon (Narith), Dennis Suon, Tina Suon, Gary Suon, and many other cousins and relatives around the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations to be made to the Dementia Society of America. https://www.dementiasociety.org/
