Truman Darryl Wilcox's Obituary
TRUMAN DARRYL WILCOX, 81 of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Heritage Hall in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born October 8, 1943, in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of the late Dr. Truman R. Wilcox and the late Gertrude Wilcox.
Truman graduated high school from Manlius Military Academy then went on to Colgate University where he was president of Alpha Delta Phi. He continued his education at Syracuse University College of Law and received a Juris Doctor.
He then served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1990 and retired from the military. Upon leaving the military he went to work for the Northern Virgina Criminal Justice Academy where he spent another 17 years before retiring as deputy director/interim director.
Truman is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Nutting Wilcox, daughters Wendy Hinnershitz (Patrick) & Heather Hoffman (Edward) and five grandchildren Connor, Makena, Bethany, Mary Claire & Luke.
The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, Virginia. A Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. Interment will be on a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Truman’s memory to the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department or Samaritans Purse.
