Virginia and I were friends for close to 40 years. We met through a mutual friend, Sally Hunt (former Loudoun County Library Director), who has also passed on. Many of the activities in which we participated together were related to libraries in the Loudoun community.
I have never known a more positive person, particularly in the face of events that could have produced bitterness. It was an honor and a pleasure to know her.
Now that I have retired to Arizona, I mourn the fact that I will not be able to see her when next I make a visit to Leesburg. Virginia seemed invincible physically, and now her memory and spirit will live forever in the hearts of many.##imported-begin##Jeannine Reynolds##imported-end##

We remember Virginia fondly. She was so much a part of our library world. Not only did you serve on the Rust Library Advisory Board, but also served on the Loudoun Library Foundation. The last time I visited Ginny at her home we sat on the porch, had a light breakfast, and talked about horses, art, and of course Jack Russell Terriers. Thunder and CC rested on her lap and we simply enjoyed each other's company. Ginny was like that- you could talk to her about anything or nothing and it was always comfortable. She had a way of making me feel at ease and at the same time like the conversation we were having was the most important thing to her. She truly cared about other people and I will miss her very much and I am sure everyone who knew her will too.##imported-begin##Delia Large-Hart##imported-end##

Ginny was my stepmother. Even after she and my father divorced, she was still my (our) stepmother. She loved my dad and the three of us girls with her whole heart. She never forgot us at birthdays or Christmas, even long after Daddy remarried. She loved her Jack Russell Reggie too and her cat. They were her friends and she treated them as such. She loved her sisters and was on cloud nine when she was able to travel to visit them and their families. She loved, she was a love, and she was loved. I am mourning the fact that I will not be able to see her again, but celebrating how sweet and loyal she was to all of her family.##imported-begin##Leslie Treviranus Shepherd##imported-end##

Ginny was my hero. She suffered an unimaginable loss with the death of her young son, yet she remained strong demonstrating the strength of character and grace to live a passionate, generous life.
