William Allen Evans' Obituary
WILLIAM ALLEN EVANS, 77 of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at his home in Ashburn, VA.
Born Thursday, May 17, 1945, in Wheeling, West Virginia, William was the son of Charles and Edna Evans.
William served his Country in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Marine Counter-intelligence Teams in Camp Pendleton, Viet Nam, Okinawa, and El Toro. He was awarded two Purple Heart medals while deployed in Vietnam. William retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. During his service he met his beloved wife, Deborah Evans, who was also serving in the United Sates Marine Corps.
William also served 32 years with the federal government as a CI Analyst in the Terrorism Branch of the Naval Investigative Service, the State Department’s Office of Foreign Missions in Russia and Soviet satellite nations, as well as serving with OSIA’s TEI and DTRA’s Cooperative Threat Reduction Agency in Moscow, Kiev, Ukraine, East Africa, and Istanbul. William worked at the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tashkent for a year before retiring from federal service in 2014.
William will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
