Bill and I became close friends in the FAA in the early 70's. The two of us were a lot younger at that time!! We were working on the modernization of the Flight Service Station (FSS) System. Bill was a key engineer on the program and I was in the Air Traffic Service and became the program manager after several years. He preceded me in retirement but I signed up with him working for a private contractor at Air Shows around the country for a few years. I live in Colorado but we kept in touch via the internet or telephone. He was a great colleague and a very close friend. The two of us had great careers and worked with a number of other FAA employees who did their best to improve the FSS segement of the Air Traffic System.. I will certainly miss that relationship. My condolences to his wonderful wife Patty and the family.
